Bob Dylan Breakdown

Vanity Fair recently published an article cataloguing Bob Dylan's brain according to his podcast. It's pretty interesting.

Music and Design

in

I have been slowly weening myself off of Design Observer for lack of personal interest but Adrian Shaughnessy seems to always draw me back in.

There is a great article posted about the relationship between music and graphic designers so check it out.

La Blogothèque

This is pretty much the coolest thing ever.

If you have hours and hours to kill do it wisely and watch videos of your favorite artists in the streets. Make sure to watch The Arcade Fire one as well as the Sufjan Stevens one.

I Am Not Dead

in

In case you are wondering where some new album reviews are at... wonder no more.

They're not here.

Sorry. I have been extremely busy lately and am also dirt poor. I know which albums are next on the reviews list but haven't had the funds to acquire them.

Please be patient because I am not dead, therefore, Whalereviews will continue.

The Ecstatic

I'm ecstatic. Mos Def will be releasing his new album in April sometime. Just like True Magic the details are few but, it has been "confirmed".

I can't wait so I must be white. Really white.

Apparently, I'm A DJ Now

in

I've recently teamed up with Ben Ransom to form the disc-jockey collective, DJ Tanner & Uncle Jesse. Last night we had our first of many-to-come gigs at Sergeant Preston's Saloon & Eatery. On March 12th we'll be making an appearance at Drink. in downtown Minneapolis. So, if you're available (on a weeknight) come by and request some tunes.

Oh. By the way, in order to get your requests played you will have to answer a Full House trivia question. Those are the rules.

Get In On Amy Winehouse's Death

in

Well, they tried to make her go to rehab and she said no, no, no but how much longer can she live this Cobilton (that's Kurt Cobain + Paris Hilton) lifestyle?

On the site whenwillamywinehousedie.com you can predict just how long. Give your best shot at when she'll kick the bucket and even throw in some last words and you could win a free iPod Touch.

The trick is to pick a date that's not too early because you know her album sales will keep her alive for at least a few more years but, also, to pick a date that's not too late thus rendering the iPod Touch obsolete. If you want my advice... somewhere between 2011 and 2013.

Wow! She. Is. Crazy.
